Steak and Mushroom Dinner


Ingredients:


1 to 2 lbs sirloin beef steak, cubed

1 whole onion, diced

2 Tablespoons Shortening

1 Tablespoon Worchestershire Sauce(optional)

2 cans Campbell's GOLDEN MUSHROOM Soup (13.5 oz)

5 or 6 medium-sized potatoes, peeled and diced

Salt, pepper, garlic powder or minced garlic to taste



In a large Dutch-oven pot, over medium heat, heat the shortening until melted. Add the cubed steak. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder or minced garlic.

Cook the steak until almost brown then add onions; cook until they are translucent, stirring occasionally.

Add the potatoes, Worchestershire Sauce, and Campbell's Golden Mushroom Soup. Add enough hot water to cover the potatoes and meat by about an 2 inchs of water. Bring to a boil, then simmer on low heat, with lid on, until potatoes are cooked, stirring occasionally.

Serve hot with hot, buttered corn bread, brown and serve rolls or fresh homemade bread. Serves four to six people.
