3/4 cup water
1/2 c finely chopped onion
salt and pepper
1 can biscuits (10 biscuits)
1 package taco seasoning mix (1 1/4 oz)
1 cup shredded cheeses: cheddar, mozorella, colby jack, pepper jack
Optional ingredients:
pineapple
mushrooms, sliced
garlic or garlic powder
black olives, sliced thin
ham, salomi, pepperoni
ground Italian Sausage
bell pepper, sliced or diced very thin
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Slowly brown ground beef, adding onion, garlic, salt and pepper. When it is brown, add taco seasoning micx and 3/4 cup water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, uncovered for 10 minutes. Stir occasionally.
Meanwhile, open the can of biscuits and take each one seperately and flatten it with your fingers or roll them out with a little flour. Lay them side by side, almost overlapping, in a shallow, ungreased pizza pan or cookie sheet.
Layer cheese, meat, cheese, meat, cheese, meat, cheese on top of the biscuit crust. Bake about 10 minutes in the 375 degree oven until cheese melts and the biscuit crust is browned lightly. Cool for 5 minutes.
Serve with sour cream, lettuce, chopped onion, taco sauce. I make Spanish Rice, Mini Taco Burgers and Refried Beans to serve with it for a meal.
