* Another way to remove stains and scents from your wooden cutting board is to wet it, then sprinkle it with salt and lemon juice. Rub the lemon and salt into the board very well, then wash it and let air dry.
* To remove splinters and cuts from your wooden cutting board, use sandpaper to smooth the surface again, then clean the board and recondition it.
* To recondition your wooden cutting board, wash the board, pat it dry, then put drops of vegetable oil or mineral oil on the surface of the board, rubbing generously with a paper towel. Let the board set about 10 minutes, then wipe off the excess oil. Put the board away until the next time you need it.
